Jessica M. has a nursing background, but after a great personal loss, she could not work and fell into a deep depression. But she found solace in thrifting. One day, while in one of our stores, she decided to shift careers. She applied for a job at Goodwill and has been with us ever since. Today, she is a shift supervisor and her specialty is the handpicked section. We are grateful for her story and for her talent in spotting beautiful treasures in the donations we receive! We help tens of thousands of people achieve stability in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, Devon is one recent success: Devon worried his criminal background and lack of transportation would make it difficult to find employment. He had experience in the automotive industry and participated in the Bolduc Correctional Facility's automotive program while incarcerated. Devon earned his ASE certification and was eager to work. He created a resume and applied for a job at a local auto shop, with help from Workforce Solutions. The business offered Devon a work experience. Devon received the tools and transportation he needed to work. The auto shop hired Devon full-time after his work experience ended. He plans to continue working there following his release from custody.
